Design and develop network communications systems and signals intelligence assets for military and government systems to include ground, air and space elements. Position includes working alone or with other communications systems engineers to develop network communications systems architectures for new business opportunities or front-end system design. Activities in this position include development of system concepts, trade studies of multiple solutions, definition of system requirements, modeling and simulation, system architecture design/development, customer presentations, proposal preparation, subcontractor selection and initial system design.
Must have a thorough understanding of communication systems concepts including analog, digital and RF receivers/systems/architectures, link analysis, systems trade studies, signals intelligence and digital signal processing. Knowledge of legacy military communications/intelligence systems, IP based systems, network protocols, analog and digital communication infrastructures and data network experience is desired. Knowledge of network security and management is also desired. Must be able to clearly express ideas in written and verbal form effectively. Must be self-motivated and able to effectively work on multiple new business opportunities and front-end project development simultaneously.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science with a minimum 8 years of recent related experience or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science with a minimum 6 years of recent related experience.
Due to the nature of work performed in our facility U.S. citizenship is required. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Government security clearance and able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position. A current SSBI/EBI with polygraph is highly desired. Travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. degree preferred. Previous system design experience with: SERDES or other high speed interfaces, network traffic performance trades, OSI model layer 1 & 2 evaluation and Gbps backplane implementations highly desirable.
