Job Listing: Senior IT Business Analyst

Our client is seeking an experienced professional with strong analytical skills to join the Phoenix office as a Sr. IT Business Analyst. This position is a great opportunity to leverage business and technical skills into fresh knowledge. The Sr. Business Analyst will be able to learn new systems and the healthcare industry in general within a Fortune 100 industry leader.

Key responsibilities include:
- Provide functional and technical subject matter expertise on the capabilities and integration of the business system(s)
- Collaborate with business and technology leads to capture and document requirements for all deliverables including for business cases, process, analysis, functional requirements and testing.
- Running Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions and translating JAD requirements from business analysts
- Collaborating with subject matter experts (SME) for requirements clarification
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to the project team for functional implementation of new system enhancements
- Working through all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Proactively identify issues and collaborate with project team to mitigate risks by proposing solutions
- Works independently.
- May act as a resource for others.

To be considered for this opportunity, the candidate must meet the following qualifications:

Strong business analyst experience (gathering and writing requirements)
- A background in the healthcare industry
- Experience working with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Ability to quickly learn new applications
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic SQL or PL/SQL skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

Highly valued assets include:
- Experience leading and/or mentoring others
- Medicaid or Medicare experience
