Job Listing: Internal Audit Manager

$90 - 120k base plus up to 15% bonus

Our Billion dollar Public Services and Building Products client in Wakefield, MA is seeking an experienced Manager of Internal Audit.

General Responsibilities:

Manage internal audit assignments and assist with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance testing throughout the company. Assist in providing recommendations that improve internal controls, add value and/or create greater efficiencies with respect to operations and financial reporting. Ensure appropriate utilization of audit resources and completion of assigned projects on schedule.

This position reports to the Director of Internal Audit. There will be frequent exposure to senior management throughout the organization.

Specific Responsibilities:
-Assist the Director of Internal Audit in performing company-wide annual risk assessments and preparation and execution of the annual audit plans;
-Responsible for managing complex audits; performing critical project management duties in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, reviewing and reporting of the work of audit teams; and providing expertise in auditing standards and performance criteria, audit requirements, and information technology skills;
-Manage assignments related to operational auditing, financial auditing, and SOX compliance;
-Maintain Internal Audit independence and objectivity in all assignments;
-Developing and executing internal audit procedures, schedules, priorities and programs for achieving audit objectives and goals;
-Preparing audit reports using sound writing skills;
-Participate in special assignments as deemed necessary by the Director of Internal Audit, management, and/or the Audit Committee;
-Ensure that recommendations are clearly presented to and agreed to by management and that a subsequent audit report is issued promptly;
-Ensure that all agreed recommendations are subsequently implemented;
-Stay abreast of best practices and provide conduit for introducing those practices to the company;
-Reflect the company’s values and demonstrate high ethical standards.

Experience:
Five or more years of accounting experience, including at least two years of managerial experience, with a minimum of three years of public accounting and/or internal audit experience; public company experience preferred.

Education:
Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance.
CPA, CIA, CMA, MBA, and/or MS Finance preferred.

Skills:
Experienced with SOX and risk assessment methodologies;
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization and facilitate the implementation of corrective action;
Project management experience would be a plus;
Willing to travel, approximately 30% of the time, to locations throughout the U.S. and Canada;
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
