Aerotek Energy has an immediate opening for a Production Engineer in the Kansas City area.
Position Summary: Production and reservoir engineering duties including monitoring existing fields and optimizing the production rates. Participate in drilling and completion operations, including field supervision. Monitor available accounting information to locate trends and optimization opportunities. Provide financial analysis and solutions to maximize the profitability of the district. Assist in the preparation of corporate reserve reports and other economic evaluations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor existing fields, conventional and coalbed methane, optimizing the production
- Field supervision of various operations
- Optimize operations by tracking and analyzing completion and production data in conjunction with financial data
- Generate re-completion and rework candidates among existing assets
- Review decline curves, LOS data, perform material balance calculations and other engineering calculations
- Design compression and pipeline facilities and tank batteries
- Design and assist with drilling and completion operations
- Critique financial data to locate cost trends and problem areas
- Assist with the due diligence of acquisitions or divestitures
- Assist with the budget process and other financial evaluations
- Utilize available information sources (both publicly available information and private data sources) to uncover data related to existing assets and potential areas of operation
- Work closely with corporate accounting personnel to provide high-quality financial data required for analysis of district reserves
- Assist with reserve reports utilizing ARIES economic software
- Perform technical and cash flow analysis including reserves estimation for recompilations, well proposals, assets acquisitions and divestitures
- Assist with regulatory compliance
- Assist in preparation and updating of the five-year strategic plan
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in engineering and minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Coalbed methane experience preferred
