Job Listing: Chief Information Security Officer

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oversee a network of devices and services that safeguard the company's assets, intellectual property and computer systems, as well as the physical safety of employees and visitors.
2. Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.
3. Manage the development and implementation of global security policy,
standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of
security, physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection,
workplace violence prevention, access control systems, video surveillance, and more. Information protection responsibilities will include network security architecture, network access and monitoring policies, employee education and awareness, and more.
4. Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and
other related government agencies.
5. Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security
audits.
6. Assists in ongoing strategic planning.
7. Assists the VP for Technology Services with the preparation of the
department budget for deploying and maintaining company systems.
8. Assumes a leadership role during the implementation of new data security technologies.
9. Performs any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related technical discipline; or equivalent experience.
2. Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security.
3. Must be an articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the technology services team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical
and non-technical staff.
4. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, provide realistic and timely recommendations and plan proactively for the protection, auditing and risk assessment of mission-critical systems and data in a highly technical, complex environment.
5. Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community.
6. Current CISSP certification is a plus. Ability to pass the CISSP certification upon completion of training a requirement.
7. Possess a valid Texas Drivers License (class C)
