Job Listing: Oracle DBA / Developer

Will work closely with application developers in a client server or web development environment. Responsible for developing indexing strategies, creating and maintaining schema objects, such as tables and indexes, database performance tuning, monitoring the condition of the database, administering network connections, replicating data between databases and code optimization.

Further, the job requires that the DBA understand ODBC and know how to monitor and resolve locking issues on all three platforms, which implement transaction isolation differently. Similarly, the job requires an understanding of how all three platforms log transaction differently. The candidate will understand the relational model and the various features available to developers, such as sequences, constraints, triggers, procedures, functions, and views and the differences in implementation.

Primary responsibilities also include analyzing problems at remote client sites and working with production DBA's in the quick resolution of problems. Will review specifications in order to give development estimates and be able to clearly define a solution to the help desk for
final resolution. Will advise application developers on creating queries and interacting with the database. Needs to be able to determine the cause of a problem by analyzing information available from the database. Will maintain scripts for database upgrades. Will develop procedures, functions and triggers. May assist other DBA(s) in architecting new product databases
