Description:
The purpose of the position is to provide application/conceptualization assistance and engineering to customers. In so doing, relationships/partnering with customers will increase and the market share will be maximized. The Inside Sales Applications Engineer should optimize the cost and delivery of products and services to the customer, helping them derive the maximum savings from the equipment with the quickest delivery and lowest cost.
Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between Sales and Engineering prior to order and during order as requested by Engineering.
Interacts on a general basis with Engineering for cost inputs and general sales support.
As required, participate in design conceptualization.
Develop cost estimates for projects, as required.
Prepares information for initial design review meeting for assigned projects and ensures Engineering has a full understanding of what was sold.
Obtain costing feedback on orders and correct quote procedures and standards to obtain accuracy.
Properly and timely submit expense reports to Inside Sales Manager adhering to company travel policy.
Coordinate with Inside Sales Managers to provide pricing for quotation purposes using company pricing standards.
Work with Accounting Department to check and resolve customer credit issues and collections when requested by Accounting Manager.
Use of CAD - Computer Aided Design, Windows, MAS 90, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Track sales leads with a computer database.
Provide price quotations for robotics, EOAT’s, downstream equipment, and system quotations with Inside Sales Manager’s coordination per company procedures.
Provide Engineering with vendor quotations, conceptualization drawings, and pricing sheets.
Size each robot to the injection-molding machine to ensure proper fit and clearance.
Write-up quotations.
Provide technical and post-sales support to customers.
Assist customer with project implementation to ensure the project success such as training programs, initial design of parts/molds, and resources required.
Requirements:
BSME or ASME required. 5+ years of related experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with CAD, preferably Solidworks. Minimal travel required. Excellent Customer Service. Plastics background preferred. Experience with Oracle for order management a plus.
