Position involves developing and maintaining the Quality System and Policies in order to drive quality improvement, and to insure conformity of purchased material and final products to company and customer specifications (and customer satisfaction); in cooperation with other managers to maximize product quality and reliability while minimizing costs
Ability to review/write quality test plans, review contracts/QAP's to identify key characteristics for inspection/Sampling plans.
Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production limitations and standards
Perform failure analysis for customer returned material and recommend corrective action as needed
Review engineering drawing to quality adherence
Sets QA objectives and makes certain that targets are achieved by monitoring performance against defined parameters
Provide necessary reporting to management team
Mentors the organization in effective problem resolution, promotes quality achievement, and fosters a culture of continual improvement
DESIRED SKILLS:
Strong working knowledge of regulations and industry quality standard such as ISO 9000 - AS9100
Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor in a CNC machining environment (lathes, mills)
Demonstrated analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Proven track record of supervising people with the ability to managing projects; root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action(s)
EDUCATION:
Candidate must have a 5 years Quality experience in a manufacturing environment and an Engineering Degree or equivalent BA in a related field
Certification is preferred in one or more of the following: American Society for Quality ( ASQ ), Certified Quality Engineer ( CQE ), Quality Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt and-or Black Belt.
