SAP BI Architect needed on a long term engagement with a Fortune 500 Company in Los Angeles!


The ideal candidate for this position will develop both standard and custom SAP BI solutions including R/3 and non-R/3 extractors, InfoCubes, Remote cubes, BI DSO objects, and Multi-providers using the BW Administrator Workbench.

On a day to day basis, the ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for data source enhancements, generic extractors, logistics cockpit configuration and customization. Develop data models using star schema, in addition to identifying key performance indicators and other OLAP considerations. Ability to work with Business Analyzer, Web Application Designer, and Business Explorer for Reporting. Experience with SAP modules like FI , BI process chains, SAP security, change management process, SAP Portals, CRM (is a plus), and other BI tools. Responsible for data load management, process changes, event processing and report optimization and performance tuning. Responsible for creating the development technical specifications based on functional specifications from business leads.

Skills needed for this position:
2 - 3 years of hands-on development experience in SAP BW ( 3.5 ) implementations including ETL (custom extractors, ODS, Cubes, Multiprovider, Infosets, Infospokes, Process Chains, etc.) and reporting (query development, BEx, WAD, query structures, variables, CKFs, RKFs, customer exits).
2-3 years Solid ABAP/4 programming skills. Experience in modifications/enhancement (user-exit) of business content extractors, generic extractors, and master data extractors.
The individual must posses strong back-end data modeling skills, including the design, architecture and data model (the organization of data within the ODS and cube levels) of the BW landscape (data from both SAP R/3 and external source systems).
2-3 years Experience with performance tuning analysis (indexes, aggregates, statistics, compression) code review, query design review, mainly SAP change control, transport system, managing transports .
One full cycle experience to assess business requirements and design the correct star schema to satisfy those requirements.
Minimum 1 year of experience to develop the complex queries in Bex Analyzer and publishing the queries to Portal .
Knowledge of BI 7.0 is plus .
