Job Listing: Software Test Engineer

A leading client of Teksystems located in Beachwood, Oh is looking to hire a Test Engineer to join their team.

Purpose of this position:

Responsible for the design, test and maintenance of software for automated test equipment. Hands-on debugging of new and existing test systems for manufacture of RF electronic products.

Essential Functions:
- Originate, test and maintain programs to control custom test equipment.
- Optimize software controlled test fixtures to achieve robust measurements and maximum throughput.
- Must demonstrate good debugging and problem solving skills and be comfortable working individually and within a small development team.
- Ability to take existing test and RMA equipment and migrate to net environment, link to databases internally for audit and validating production.
- Maintain and enhance existing code while migrating to new platform.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Program machine-to-machine communication via TCP/IP sockets.
- Assist production floor with legacy code for oven, final test
- Program ODBC connections to a SQL Server database.
- Minimize retest and downtime on a high-volume electronics production line.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science Computer Engineering/Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering/Bachelor of Science Computer Science Engineering or equivalent. Masters degree is a plus.

-Competent working with Microsoft Office – use of Word, extensive use of Excel.

-3 to 5 years of professional software development experience.

- Highly responsible and self motivated.

- Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, Visual Basic 6.0, SQL 2000, C#, .NET, Visual C++ 6.0 and Legacy VB experiences is a must.

- SQL 2005 skills- ADO Connectivity, minor SQL skills for insertion and extractor, simple DB schema Design.

- RS-232 and GPIB experience a plus.

- LabVIEW experience a plus.

- Knowledge of RF Instruments and interest in hardware and/or RF is a plus.
