Job Listing: Mechanical/Piping Superintendent-Energy

They are currently looking for a Mechanical/Piping Project Superintendent to help them continue their mission of making solar energy competitive among the other forms of electrical generation today.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To supervise the equipment setting and installation of the mechanical and piping systems portion of the M2 Construction project

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Work as the Construction Manager's right hand to manage installation of the mechanical equipment and systems, rigging and setting of HVAX units and ducting, exhaust duct system and other equipment including all process piping systems, bulk and specialty gas equipment

-Monitor and schedule 3rd party inspections as required and work with General Contractor and Subcontractors to coordinate such inspections

-Advise Construction Manager of any construction engineering or scheduling problems and/or conflicts.

-Work with Construction Manager, Project Team, General Contract Team, and Engineering Team to resolve problems and/or conflicts

-Sit on Project Safety Committee

-Attend weekly OAC meetings and additional meetings as directed

-Work with Tool Install Team to get Production Line Tools installed and services and systems online for engineering shakedown

-Work with Construction Manager and General Contractor to develop punch lists and system turn over for Commissioning

EXPERIENCE:

-Minimum of 10 years of experience in direct piping, mechanical, or other metal craft Supervision and Project management of Industrial and heavy industrial projects to a minimum management level of G.F. is a MUST!

-Experience in safe heavy rigging practices (CAL OSHA Certificate REQUIRED), equipment setting, pipe and tube welding, installation, testing techniques and methods and installation odes including HVAC S&R and exhaust duct installations.

-MUST be familiar with most common pipe and fabrication installation codes

-MUST be skilled in interpretation of piping-ortho, Isometric and P & ID Drawings, Civil, Structural, Mechanical (Duct) and some electrical drawing experience is a plus!

-Experience in estimating and MS Project scheduling is also a plus!

EDUCATION:

-Completion of a California Apprenticeship in on the metal trades is desired

-Project Management degree accompanied by hands on field experience is also acceptable

SALARY:

This position is paying a minimum of $30 an hour (DOE)
