DS2 is seeking applicants for Aviation Ordnancemen for a potential contract award.
BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY
- Performs AO organizational Level MRC’s and provides assistance to other rating. Must be also knowledgeable with the operation and maintenance of weapons system equipment, Electrical, Avionics, including; GSE/test equipment. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge and experience to solve repair problems and correct corrosion for the Reset Program. Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction to employees in the Aircraft Ordnance Mechanic classification.
- Possess in depth knowledge of aircraft ordnance maintenance practices, applicable maintenance/ technical manuals and publications, basic tools, special tools, test equipment and the operation and maintenance of structural repair equipment and machinery. Must have working knowledge of corrosion detection, prevention and treatment.
- Responsible for all documentation related to the Reset Program at his/her assigned site.
- Must be customer oriented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs Reset MRC’s and other Scheduled and Unscheduled aircraft maintenance related to the applicable the MOS rating and technical data. Will be cross trained as required to complete other phases of the Reset requirements
- Inspects and handles aviation ordnance equipment. They are responsible for the maintenance of guns, bombs, torpedoes, rockets, and missiles systems. Their duties include the stowing, issuing, and loading of munitions and small arms. Additionally they will perform limited repair and OJT on hydraulic systems, structural repairs, modifications, removal, replacement and reinstallation actions; part fabrication; layouts, templates, etc., for structural integrity, quality and completeness of work.
- Adjusts, sets-up, trouble shoots, repairs, and demonstrates correct usage of test equipment, hand tools, powered tools, fastener installation tooling and fixtures that are used for aircraft O-level maintenance.
- Develops, designs, recommends, and determines repair and replacement requirements and procedures to include but not limited to fastener, corrosion, material condition etc.
- Develops, designs, recommends, inspects and determines procedures and requirements to include quality and completeness of work.
- Assists in P&E report preparation.
- Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
- Maintains and/or completes required records and applicable maintenance forms.
- Use schematics, drawings, charts and other applicable publications to troubleshoot, repair, and test assigned systems.
- Performs aircraft inventory.
- CDQAR/CDI Certification may be required.
- Performs corrosion treatment and corrections required by the MRC’s.
- May be required to perform collateral duty inspection assignments.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- The Team Member shall possess maintenance and repair experience and skill sets on the applicable platform T/M/S aircraft and all associated systems. Must have experience in military aircraft and technical data necessary to support all assigned T/M/S aircraft maintenance.
- Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention. Personnel shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned, i.e., “O” level. When approved by the Government the mechanic will be capable of cross-training into other specialties.
- Possess requisite maintenance, modification and repair experience and skill sets (MOSs) on the applicable platform T/M/S aircraft and all associated systems, as defined in the applicable T/M/S MRC deck and/or MCI/MCR specification.
- Possess the ability to work independently, without technical guidance.
- Possess a working knowledge of all publications appropriate to the assignment; have a thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of the aircraft and aircraft systems; and theoretical knowledge of the equipment/systems.
- Possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications.
- Possess a high degree of tact, diplomacy and the ability to work and cooperate harmoniously with USMC personnel.
