Athlete Mentor Job Description AM’s are crucial factors to the Athlete Alliance, Inc team. The AM’s, impact young athlete’s life in a major way, through their knowledge and personal experiences. The next generation of athletes needs hands on guidance. Our youth require current or former athletes that they can consult with, in order for them to make wise decision in their quest of becoming a student athlete. Athlete Mentors Responsibilities • Motivate and educate young athletes on becoming student athletes. • Mentor an athlete that is playing a sport that you currently or formerly played/coached. • Communicate with athlete and guardian at least twice a month via email, phone etc… • Give them all information necessary to transition from high school to college. • Assist them with getting answers to the inquiries. • Keep guardian abreast on information communicated to athlete. • Keep a positive public image. • Be available to talk with guardian and/or athlete at least twice a month for the duration of that athlete’s package plan.

Required Skills

Former or current athlete that has played at a collegiate level or above required.
Former coach who has knowledge on student athlete qualifications for a collegiate level required.
Knowledge of the different types of pre-admission testing and their relation to college eligibility required.
Willing to learn the NCAA’s rules all levels for eligible student athletes.
Knowledge about the community colleges and the rules.
Knowledge on how to apply for any/all Financial Aid assistant required.
