Job Listing: Accounting Director, Fortune
Located just outside of Atlanta, one of Georgia's multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 manufacturers requires the skill and expertise of an Accounting Director. With an international market to serve and over 30,000 coworkers to support worldwide, the Accounting Director will become the focal point of contact for all accounting, domestic and international, specifically as it relates to month and year end closing. They will formulate and enact best practices and will be immediately tasked to pare down the closing process from 4 days to 2½. This position is key in the strategizing of plans to take further international market share.
The Accounting Director ($100-130K + 20% + full relocation) will work at company headquarters and will supervise and develop the Accounting Team, while performing a variety of tasks and works under limited supervision. Highlights of the position include:
World-Wide Consolidation and distributor of financial statements
Leads, motivates and coaches a diverse team of employees.
Monthly/Quarterly financial analytics
Assist in the coordination of the external audit
Corporate SOX compliance
Oversee the accounting for foreign tax legal entities
Special projects- such as acquisition and mergers, system implementation, integration, conversion and/or upgrades.
Pension plan reporting
Accounting liaison between executive groups and Divisional financial personnel
Prepare Board Book financial presentations
Other- Cash, Fixed Asset and Lease management.

Required Skills
Job Requirements:
The Accounting Director must have the following skills and educational background:
Extensive understanding of international accounting issues in a multi-billion dollar manufacturing environment, including inventory and closing.
Served in a managerial accounting position, supervising at least 5 employees, with a manufacturer or in public accounting at a large firm.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, a CPA and MBA are required.
Be able to interact with Accounting/Finance department heads on a daily basis.

Interview Process and Contacts:
The first interview will be a phone interview conducted by the International Assistant Controller, who is the hiring authority for the position and also the Accounting Director's direct report. The next interview with be held in house and conducted by various department heads (i.e. VPs, Directors, etc
). Upon completion of the interviews, feedback will be aggregated and a decision rendered on whether to or what offer should be extended.
