JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Buyer is responsible for order management, negotiating special pricing and resolving problems on assigned customer(s), exercising significant discretion and independent judgment to increase customer satisfaction by meeting or going beyond expectations.

Key Job Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Manages order flow from customer through to vendor
Ensures customer requirements for price and delivery times are met
Follows-up/expedites orders as required
Resolves vendor non-conformance issues in a timely fashion
Negotiates special pricing considerations with suppliers for recurring purchases
Obtains multiple quotes for as many line items as possible in an effort to reduce costs
Maintains compliance with all procedures and work instructions
Supports Purchasing Team metrics and goals

Temp to hire opportunity, full time M-F 8am-5pm, paying up to $17/hour depending on experience.

Required Skills

Experience:
Broad industrial product knowledge and buying experience in several of the following verticals is preferred: Electrical; Industrial; Power Transmission; Hydraulic/Pneumatic; Filtration; PVF - Plumbing; Safety; Janitorial; Material Handling

Education:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Competencies:
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Very organized with attention to detail
Able to adjust well to change
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to build professional working relationships
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to take action and achieve effective proactive results
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Outlook and Internet navigation
