Job Listing: Procurement Manager

Proactively lead a multi-disciplined Subcontract Management Team in the Program Integration of Suppliers, evaluation of bids, supplier selection, award of purchase orders and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Provide strategic leadership to the supplier development team to initiate Lean events and process improvement to move suppliers up the value stream and actively manage the supplier rationalization process.

Responsibilities to Include:
Strategic Supplier Alignment and implementation of the Supply Chain sourcing strategies which include: Cost management, contract negotiation and analysis of proposals, historic and target price analysis, long term pricing agreements, Market Trend Analysis, product forecasting and leveraging Suppliers capabilities in development of Advanced Technology.

The candidate for this position must be a self-starter, capable of developing and achieving organizational and program objectives. The candidate must be able to successfully interface with all levels of management, including customers and suppliers. Candidate shall possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Provide direction and guidance to a purchasing team responsible for supplier negotiations, support to the selection and development of new suppliers, achievement of cost reduction initiatives, resolution of supplier Lean and Six Sigma activity, support to maintain MRP requirements and support to supplier qualification activities. Candidate must be focused on supporting program goals and factory needs, future product development with excellent strategic sourcing skills.


Required Skills

Bachelor's degree with 10 years experience or Masters Degree with 7 years preferred.

Position Requirements:
Candidate shall have thorough knowledge FAR/DoD Procurement Regulations, strong quality and problem solving background and knowledge of problem solving tools such as corrective action, analysis of supplier data and supplier rating systems. Certification in Six Sigma/Lean is desirable. Thorough knowledge of machine parts and sub assemblies procurement in an Aerospace environment. Candidate shall have exceptional leadership qualities, have excellent contract writing skills, and have exceptional analytical skills. The ideal candidate shall have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, be experienced in leading a purchasing group and be able to demonstrate how they have work effectively with internal and external organizations in support of business objectives.

Individual will manage:
Group of 10-12 buyers, subcontract administrators and clerical staff.
Sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
A key contact person for purchasing and quotes from vendors.
Will interact with all departments within two Plants.
Responsible for developing plans and organizing the workflow of configured purchasing group to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is required.
CPM or advanced degree is a plus.
5 years experience out of the metal (steel) fabrication industry.
At least 5 years of management experience in purchasing.
