Business Analyst SQL, T-SQL, SSRS Reporting, Excel (Pivot Tables)
This Business Analyst will participate as a team member in the implementation and support of business intelligence and reporting systems in a production environment. The Business Analyst in this position will work independently to solve moderate to highly complex support problems; may develop and maintain information for knowledge base and will analyze and evaluate computer systems and execute performance analysis.
Business Analyst Job Responsibilities:
Data Quality and Reporting – Their systems (SQL Server 2005, Access Database) are comprised of multiple internal and external facing components. These databases are about 2 Terabytes large. It's critical for the success of each product that the company ensures Data/System Quality in each of these components. As such, this Business Analyst role will focus on ensuring that the end-to-end system is always accurate and up-to-date and in creating reports using Excel (pivot tables, Macros, V-Look ups).
Support – Their team monitors end-user customer support tools and responds to general and technical issues via email, phone, and live 1:1 meetings from users around the globe - both internal and external customers. Therefore, it's critical that the Business Analyst in this role be able to understand their customers, translate technical issues into business terms and help find creative solutions when needed.
Technical Troubleshooting – As part of data quality and support processes, issues will be identified that require deep troubleshooting into the system and processes. As a result, this Business Analyst must have deep problem solving and analytical skills, database proficiency and the ability to write SQL ad hoc statements.
Metrics – Their team is customer facing and they play the voice of the customer ensuring a virtuous feedback loop back to their PM and Development teams. To keep tabs on the health of the product, this Business Analyst must produce relevant weekly and monthly reports on system usage, performance and support statistics to management.
Project Management – They find the balance between a customer's needs and their team's development resources. Therefore, this Business Analyst role will provide the initial business perspective and context surrounding feature requests and the prioritization of bugs. The Business Analyst will then drive bug fixes and QFEs through development, test and operations and then verify the resolution of issues.
