Job Listing: Business Manager

For more than 100 years, our client has been providing the logistics, fulfillment and return center technologies to many of the world's largest corporate and government agencies.
As a Business Manager, you will be responsible for providing value to our customer here in San Diego. This is accomplished by directing daily administrative activities to Office Clerical Staff and the Customer Satisfaction Department in a way that meets both customer requirements and site objectives, while providing value to their customer. The Business Manager develops procedures, establishes standards and administers activities to assure the timely shipment of product to customers and the effective response to customer requests, problems and requirements. He or she is accountable for hiring, training, motivation, and supervision of Customer Service Staff. The Business Manager develops effective communication linkages with the customer to ensure that a high level of customer service is delivered. In addition to the customer, the Business Manager also interfaces with the warehouse operations, transportation, and is involved in corporate planning. He or she will work with the Operations Manager and Quality Control Manager on procedures, issues, productivity and continuous improvement. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion.
This position is responsible for:
-Supervising Payroll, A/P and other internal office processes.
-Enrolling and administering benefits programs; researching/answering employee inquiries.
-Reinforcing positive teammate relations; supporting corporate employee relations initiatives.
-Providing leadership, training, motivation and supervision of Office Team.
-Coordinating recruitment/training/orienting of the Warehouse employees.
-Daily interaction with warehouse employees to insure open line of communication is maintained and to assist Operations Team in addressing issues, needs, and/or concerns they arise.
-Conducting investigations with regard to harassment or other violations of company policy and procedures.
-Becoming knowledgeable with responsibilities of all clerical/administrative positions.
-Administering salary programs/increases.
-Processing and maintaining all state and federal requirement regulatory reports.
-Secure contract/agreement of most cost effective rates with approved supplier.
-Maintaining highly confidential information.
-Providing clerical/administrative support for Facility Management.
-Manage budget as established by the Facility Manager & Operations Manager.


Required Skills

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of Human Resource preferred but comparable experience will be considered.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience applying knowledge of local, state and federal labor/employment laws and regulations regarding employment decisions such as hiring, discipline, termination, worker's compensation, leave administration, benefits and compensation.
Ability to work independently.
Previous payroll and accounting experience is a plus.
Strong administrative skills.
Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple functions.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION.
