Required Skills for this BIOS Engineer position includes 4 - 6 years in the following:
Minimum 1 year experience of successful BIOS development and deployment (actual development of firmware)
Fluent in 80x86 assembly language and C/C++
Familiar with a wide range of technical aspects of Pentium desktop processors and chipsets
Possess an ability to take on any hardware and software task with minimal investment
Strong debugging skills (able to clearly identify system and subsystem behavior, make a high-level and detailed plan to determine the root cause through paradigms)
Able to read modern complex hardware schematics and understand how software interacts with hardware (for example, GPIOs to drive memory chip selects or devices)
Quick thinker (can think outside the box without deviating from project goals)
A clear understanding of Software Engineering principles (including the software lifecycle)
Creative and persistent problem-solver
Responsible and self-motivated with a solid work ethic
Flexible with the ability to work extra hours to achieve deadlines (proven track record for delivering to committed deadlines)
Able to willingly and fearlessly accept new tasks and quickly pick up new technologies (pioneering solutions in new spaces)
Education requirements: B.S. degree in E.E. or better (B.S. in C.S. would be considered)
Bonus skills:
C# and/or Java development
Knowledge of Windows Drivers (WDM)
