Job Listing: Structural Systems Engineer

Our client, a premier employer in rural Northwest Pennsylvania, is selectively looking for a degreed Structural/Systems Engineer to contribute their proven success and experience to a unique service business model within the global parent company environment. Using traditional and progressive structural engineering calculation methods and practices, you will have the responsibility to develop engineering plans and prepare detailed designs for all custom structural systems and solutions. Additional responsibilities will include:
Prepare and calculate system cost estimates and detailed proposals, that include engineering, components, fabrications, equipment and construction and finalize written proposal to end user.

Meet with customers and inspects sites to ensure accurate definition of installations specifications. Troubleshoots difficulties in installations as necessary.

Supports sales force by providing technical guidance and work with potential end-user clients, including architects and engineers. Will also be dedicated to follow-up of proposals to close sale and support product development and product training.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have the following education and experience:

Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering - Required - Emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred

State Certified EIT preferred and P.E license is highly desirable

5+ years experience as a design-build contractor - Required

Extensive background in construction, including estimating, scheduling, law and contracts

Good business acumen and experience in preparing detailed proposals including cost estimates, risk exposures and margin/profit

Proven success and ability to work with minimal oversight and meet rigid project deadlines and customer demands.

Strong relationship-building skills and excellent communication skills required for regular contact with safety managers, engineers, end users and executive management of clients.

Proven success in continual "out-of-the-box" approach to system designs, while applying proven practices and procedures.

Expert knowledge of AutoCAD required to develop technical drawings to communicate design to fabricators and installers.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office software

Flexibility for travel as required

Must be comfortable working at heights and regular lifting of various technical equipment and building materials.
