Job Listing: CNC Lathe Programmer - Please

Volt Professional Search has partnered with a growing company serving the booming and ever expanding aerospace industry. The company has been in existence since the 1950's. Their products can be found, in one form or the other, on most aircraft's flying today. We are looking for a solid CNC Lathe Programmer with experience on multi axis lathes and machining centes.
The role of a CNC Lathe Programmer would comprise of setting up, programming and operating computer numerically controlled machining equipment. The Programmer will utilize 3- dimensional computer aided design equipment and software to determine dimensions and configurations of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates. The position will also compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, curvatures and outline sequence of operations that is required to machine a part. Interfacing with engineering and manufacturing staff to resolve and optimize manufacturability issues and implement product improvements would be a day to day routine. The CNC Lathe Programmer will also write program of machine instructions in numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along a specified cutter path. Maintenance of machining procedures records, direction and participation in machine maintenance will also be a part of the Programmers roles and responsibilities.


Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 plus years of CNC Lathe programming and 3 years set up experience on multi axis CNC machine tools and knowledge of both turning and machining centers. A good fit for this position will have past experience using CAD CAM software and Fanuc controls as well.

The shop has the following equipment and a candidate with setting up and programming of any combination of these machines will be preferred over other: Takisawa CNC Lathe, Manual Tooling Lathe, Viper CNC Lathe, Harding Chucker Manual Lathe, Lorenz CNC Sharper. The client uses NCL 502 Version 9.210, VX Solid Model CAD Version 8.0, MasterCAM v 9.0 / 10.0 for Programming Software. Therefore any proficiency in these software is also desired.

Interview Process:
Since this is a very unique position and a combination of experience in a variety of machines and software, the interview process will include an unpaid Working Interview that may require you to demo your knowledge on the machines either physically or on the 3D programming software.
