Job Listing: Roadway Maintenance Representative

One of Volt's highly respected customers is seeking an experienced Project Manager to work with their Roadway Maintenance Services.

Responsibilities:

1) Sub-contractor oversight for pavement marking and/or installation of traffic signs.
- Production reporting: Maintain and reconcile daily production reports of sub-contractor activity.
- Quality inspection, measurements and reporting: Measure and record the performance and quality attributes of product installation.
- Material Inventory reporting: Record and maintain inventory and material consumption records of materials located at remote sites supporting product installation.
2) Takes regular (daily/weekly) work direction from the Project Manager, but works independently on the road at remote locations of the project installation.
3) Daily/hourly communications with the installation sub-contractors crew and appropriate agency inspectors or project personnel.
4) Learns and complies with all industry roadway safety practices.
5) Provides and operates personal vehicle or rental vehicle while working.
6) Participate in training related to technical product application, roadway safety, and project implementation.
7) Timely reporting and procedural compliance of traffic incidents within work zones.
8) Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (reflective gear and safety equipment) provided by our customer.
9) Exhibits leadership role while interfacing with the agency contacts and sub-contractors to interpret work requirements, work hours, weather implications, safety precautions, and material application. Focus to maintain and deliver a safe, quality, timely, and cost effective implementation of projects.

Terms:
- Personal vehicle mileage expenses reimbursed
- Lodging, meals, airfare, communications, and related travel expenses, while working away from home, reimbursed at actual cost.
- Special equipment, such as vehicle signage, strobes, tools, paid by our customer
- Measurement instruments and training provided by our customer
- Work hours can be extensive, typically at night and through weekends.

Required Skills

Qualified candidates posses the following skills and experiences:

1) Relevant construction project experience, as a crew lead, agency inspector, project manager, operator, tradesperson, superintendent, field rep, equipment maintenance or related function.
2) Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
3) Prefer experience working within highway construction zones
4) Capable of using simple Excel spreadsheets, fluent with remote electronic communications including email, mobile phone, and two way radios. Must be proficient on the computer, including Word, Excel and email.
5) Relevant industry, technical training or degree; construction project management, highway/road construction, construction trades, pavement marking or sign applications, traffic management, product quality, or related.
6) Prefer formal training or certification in traffic control procedures.
7) Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, product application guidelines, and technical documentation.
8) Must be able to operate instruments to take readings
