Lab Test EngineerWindows Server 2003/2008, SQL Server 2005, TCP/IP
In this position, the IT-experienced candidate will get to work with cutting-edge technology and inventive hardware such as a robotic arm and other latest and greatest gadgets. Duties:

Performing advanced problem-solving
Working with servers (i.e. setting up, troubleshooting)
Kernel Debugging
Applying script knowledge, i.e. THCP/DNS
Maintaining knowledge base associated with the various systems; documenting what is needed for the Software Giant's most current operating systems
Coordinating team projects and overall lab model
Researching system problems and finding workarounds and solutions as well as file appropriate bugs – Product Studio (filing of OS Bugs)
Cabling
Networking
Backing-up/restoring with Quantum backup devices using Symantec Backup, etc.

Required Skills

Required Skills for this LTE position include the following:

SCOM 2007 Administration and Operation
SQL Server 2005 Administration
WSUS and other patch deployment solutions
Prior Tech Lab experience is mandatory
Understanding of how Windows works - Strong Windows Server 2003/2008 skills and experience
Experience with Enterprise Class Hardware, HP Servers and related equipment
Good hardware troubleshooting skills
Understanding of and experience with SANs, fiber cabling, etc.
General understanding of:

Basic understanding of PC/IT concepts
TCP/IP v4 (v6 is helpful)
DHCP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, etc.
DFS, DFSR, AD, Domains
Product Studio
Setup/install/configuration skills
Familiarity and experience with management of shares/permissions
Soft Skills:

Good organization and time management skills
Must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to coordinate with internal teams
