The world's leading Aerospace company has a contract position available for a Systems Engineer.
JOB DUTIES:
Advanced Air Traffic Management (AATM) is developing system requirements, operational concepts, System and Software Architectures, and demonstrations for innovations in Air Traffic Management for the FAA, NASA, DoT, DoD and other customers.
The successful Engineer candidate will develop, coordinate and present designs and strategic positions within the Company and with external parties, including Project Teams, Project partners and Stakeholders such as:

Airlines
Air Traffic Controllers
Air Crew
Air Traffic Systems providers
Avionics providers
Other organizations (e.g. AEEC, EUROCAE, ICAO, RTCA, ATA)

Specific projects include Team Lead or Engineering support for:

Oceanic Trajectory-based Flight Operations Development
Advanced Tailored Arrivals Development
Integrated Network-enabled operations demonstrations and operational capabilities (including DoD, FAA, JPDO, and industry partners)

This is an estimated 6-month contract position, through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Atlanta, GA. Required Skills for this Systems Engineer position include the following:
Specific candidate skill areas include some or all of the below:

Systems Engineering (i.e. Technical Systems Analysis, e.g. providing design solutions such as Repeatable Descent profiles and/or Operational Flight profile design (i.e. 4D Trajectory), simulation, and test)
Knowledge of and experience in the production of System Design specifications with experience in development and production of industry standards
Familiarity with Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) systems (from an Electronics perspective/background) and Aircraft Systems (i.e. knowledge of aircraft operations and systems, performance, and related technologies)
Experience with Aircraft Avionics, Associated Systems, and Certification
Knowledge of:

Existing aircraft systems and familiarity with concepts of future technologies that could go into production within the next 10 years
Flight Operations

Experience with systems, algorithms and logic used for prediction and management of aircraft in all phases of pre-, post-, and in-flight operations (geared towards current and future systems development and operations)
Operational flight experience/knowledge (i.e. military, commercial, business or general aviation)
Air Traffic Control operations experience/knowledge
Degree and typical experience in Engineering classification:

Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of experience, or
Master's Degree with 7+ years of experience, or
PhD with 4+ years of experience

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and/or Chemistry
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
