Software Design Engineer in Test Web Technologies and Entertainment
Online video advertising is expected to grow dramatically six-fold to over $4 billion by 2011. The growth is being fueled by the huge amount of content being made available online, ranging from user-generated video to full-length TV shows and movies. The lines between the different categories of video aggregators (video sharing sites, portals, content providers, social networks and video search) are blurring and business models are in flux. There probably couldn't be a more exciting time to be working in the online video space. Our Client's online video service is one of the largest free programmed services on the web; watched by more than 12 million unique users per month. In addition to streaming news, entertainment and sports video clips, from more than fifty content partners, it also presents a broad array of live events to online audiences worldwide.
This team is looking for a SDET to help lead their efforts, to grow the audience for the company's online video service in the US. This position will work closely with Platform Engineering, Web Development, Content and Programming teams, to help deliver compelling video experiences that help increase audience engagement. The ideal candidate will be a "seasoned" Tester with a startup mindset. In addition, this candidate will have solid "technical chops" and a passion for shipping high quality web experiences.
The team spends little time planning and spec-ing and a lot of time prototyping, executing and shipping. They are driven by direct consumer feedback and the "pulse" of the web, rather than endless spec meetings.

Required Skills for this Software Design Engineer in Test includes the following:
3 - 5 years work related experience as a Software Design Engineer in Test (ideally on the web)
Experience developing test plans, suites, cases and schedules
Solid understanding of web technologies: XHTML, CSS, XML, HTTP, DOM Scripting, etc.
Passion for online video, consumer products and digital entertainment and media
Startup mindset and a desire to work on great products
B.A. or B.S. degree in Computer Science (or a related discipline) is preferred
Bonus Skills:
Experience gained while working for the Redmond, WA based Software Giant
