Volt Technical Resources is looking to fill a 1 year contract position with one of our aerospace companies in Cedar Rapids, IA. In this role of a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to perform as part of a multi-functional team of systems, software & hardware engineers on display systems used in commercial aircraft, but be capable of working independently. Successful applicants will follow the project’s defined process for requirements analysis, design, code, integration, test and documentation of moderate to complex software tasks, including verification inspections and structural coverage. Applicants must have aptitude for learning different tools for development and test environments.

May be considered a specialist in a specific software area or generalist in multiple software areas and recognized in their organization. Self directed and provides guidance to team members.

Required Skills

- BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree

- Experience with the high order programming language Ada

- Real-time embedded systems experience

Desired:
- Avionics experience (preferably EFIS or EICAS)

- RTCA DO-178B Level A development/verification

- Experience with low level software
development/integration/verification of hardware platforms, cards, etc.
