A leading provider of massively multi-player online games is seeking a Game Designer for a Temp to Hire opportunity.
Position Overview:
More specifically, this Company is looking for experienced C++ Programmers who are excited about developing new technologies and empowering Scenario Designers to develop high-end virtual worlds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Game Designer:
Develops and maintains systems in the client to be used in multiple products.
Designs and implements new systems based on business needs.
Develops software to run on Windows and Linux.
Follows and maintains current coding standards and documentation.
Collaborates effectively with Engineering, Design, Art and Production teams.
Refactors and improves upon existing source code.
Current development efforts include:
Cutting Edge 3D Graphics Engine Development
Graphical Tools Development for Game designers (i.e. Carvers, Scenario Design, Model Viewers)
iPhone Development
Serious Games/Simulators

This is a North Carolina-based company with over 100 experienced professionals and an Executive team with over 20 years each in entertainment, gaming, and business.
This is a Six-Month Contract to Direct Hire position, through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Raleigh, NC. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Southeast.

Required Skills for this Game Designer position include the following:
4+ Years of professional C++ experience
Experience with MS Visual Studio
Source Control System experience required; knowledge of Perforce a plus
DirectX programming experience
Solid foundation in 3D Math
Strong Code Architecture and Design skills
Ability to multi-task
Must be highly self-motivated
Must have a passion for creating and playing video games
BS degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience
