Job Listing: Senior Graphics Software Engineer
This Software Engineer will work closely with the Core Technology team and Lead Content Creators to develop state-of-the-art runtime technology for the PS3, XBOX 360 and PC!
About Our Client:
Based in Kirkland, WA, this computer game development and publishing company focuses on combining uncompromising gaming content with high-end technology. Founded by six game Developers in 1995, this gaming company worked along side a well known software manufacture and became known for its Graphical Game Development System and among other things and for its proprietary software available for license by other Developers. During these formative years, this company had included both a publishing division as well as internal development teams. The company later reorganized and focused exclusively on game development. By strengthening its internal management structure, hiring experienced Developers and focusing on timely delivery of quality products, the company reinforced its external partnerships and slowly built a solid reputation as a dependable development house. During this phase, the company grew to over 80 employees and three teams. Acquired in 2004 by a well know entertainment company they now currently employ over 100 people, all based in Kirkland, Washington. The company has three projects in development across multiple platforms.
This is a 6 month contract position (with possible extension) through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, which is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.
Required Skills
Required Skills for this Senior Graphics Software Engineer includes the following:
5+ years professional C/C++ programming.
Experience working with current graphics algorithms and hardware.
Experience making low-level optimizations.
Ability to rapidly prototype new graphics techniques and turn these prototypes into robust, maintainable, shippable systems.
Experience with memory management, multi-threading, cross-platform development and a working knowledge of 3D math.
Able to collaborate with Engineers and Content Creators to develop robust, maintainable and cutting-edge technology.
Able to openly discuss and review technical proposals, requirements, designs, algorithms, source code and reference documents with Engineers, Content Creators and Managers.
Creative, focused, results-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver with excellent debugging and strong communications skills.
Strong desire to build industry-leading technology.
Able to work well in a team development environment.
Education Requirements: B.S. degree in CS, EE, Math or Physics.
Bonus Skills:
Designed and implemented a full featured renderer for a published AAA game.
XBOX 360 and/or PS3 development experience.
Microsoft Visual C++/.NET development environment.
