Job Listing: Senior Logistics Planning Engineer

Our customer is seeking high-performing logistics engineers like you to bring your skills and experience to conceptualizing, developing and designing the inventory replenishment systems of tomorrow. The essence of success in this materials management system is in achieving industry-leading customer service by providing the right products to the right place at the right time, while optimizing inventory investment. You will become a part of the experienced team that applies advanced analytics & processes, modeling techniques and technologies, along with extensive supply chain performance monitoring tools, to work with clients in achieving their cost and service objectives.


Currently we are engaged in filling several logistics direct hire openings for talented individuals who will design strategies for inventory management. The individuals in these positions will lead cross-functional teams of technical experts, logistics professionals, and manufacturing engineers. The Senior Logistics Planning Engineer acts as an individual contributor, bringing technical expertise to the project. You will participate on the project teams to support the design & concept for the implementation process of the parts replenishment project by conducting part number analysis (demand and usage in past, present, future) and assembly floor parts rack global layout standardization.

Our client's logistics specialists will be accountable for the concept, development and design of the tactical logistics strategy for each assembly part (nuts, bolts, seals, washers, rings, etc..) including all steps in the supply chain process from the inbound logistics center to point of use (POU) on the production floor, resulting in the ''Plan for Every Part"(PFEP). They will accelerate solution development and ensure effectiveness of replenishing assembly parts material at the POU.

Required Skills

-4 year college degree and/or 5-10 years experience in manufacturing or logistics

- Intermediate computer skills - MS Office (Excel & Access), MS Project, Visio

-Requires analytical ability as well as written and oral communication skills

- Requires a minimum of 50% travel in the U.S. (mostly Southeastern US)

- Experience in manufacturing/assembly or logistics planning

- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus

- Operational start-up experience
