Retirement Income (RI) is seeking a highly motivated Business Systems Analyst to join Retirement Incomes Systems Team. This position requires a motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing priorities. This individual must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization. This individual must demonstrate the ability to influence and negotiate powerfully to achieve “win-win” solutions.
Job Summary
This position will be responsible for the delivery of Retirement Incomes New Business Strategy. The strategy is to enhance New Business Paper Application Entry and Electronic Application Receipt processes to enable a more efficient and scalable New Business operation. Main project goals include automating Business Rules, eliminating waste by removing duplication of effort, importing electronic data, and developing reporting mechanisms to help track progress towards predefined efficiency goals.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
- Usability experience working with data entry applications within back office operations
- Web User Interface experience – understandings of web design and screen flow capabilities
- Annuity new business application processing domain experience (nice to have)
- Understanding of Annuity product rules (nice to have)
- Experience working with CRM systems (nice to have)
- Experience defining business and system requirements
- Experience working within the financial industry required
- Knowledge of Vantage administrative platform, or similar, a plus, not required
- Drive efforts that identify business requirements and writes specifications for new/revised systems
- Facilitate sessions to bring multiple groups together to agree on scope and build consensus.
- Make use of advanced analysis and documentation techniques.
- Work closely with project manager to establish strategy for gathering, analyzing and specifying requirements.
- Contribute to the development of RFP’s (request for proposal) if the solution requires a vendor solution.
- For software purchases, the business analyst will work with business area experts, technology team, and potential vendors to discuss the requirements and verify the selected package meets the business needs.
- Identify and document scope changes escalating appropriately to project manager for action.
- Participate in functional and change impact analysis for existing business processes and develops recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
- Provide recommendations for changes to department policies to meet business needs.
- Perform quality review of specifications.
- Exhibits senior level competency and project management communication and evaluation skills (e.g. options analysis, status reports, minutes, presentations, GAP analysis and CBA’s)
- Leads in analyzing, planning and implementing under the direction of a project manager
- Manages assignments to meet business objectives and requirements
- Supports Project Manager in project capacity (e.g. the accurate scope and planning of a project including establishing milestones and implementation plans)
- May lead within a project team or mentor others
- Possesses ability to facilitate the creation of testing documentation and manage testing process on a specific project
- Acts as a subject matter expert within various areas of accountability
- Leads development, documentation and review of detailed business specs based on an understanding of the design specs to be easily interpreted by systems in preparation of technical specs
- Participates and supports post implementation process
- Coaches others in developing business analysis skills
- Complies with Enterprise project management methodology and project audits
- Assists with production support responsibilities requiring task and team management skills
General Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in business analysis roles
- Project Management methodology
- Technical Skills including MS Office Suite of products
- Team player and be able to work effectively to promote a team environment
- Very fast paced environment, take initiative, be creative, flexible, and ability to adapt to changing environment
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Works independently with little or no direction
- Ability to build strong partnership with client areas, peers, IT partners, and system vendors
- CLIENT product knowledge a plus
