Health Information Specialist
Our client is a growing knowledge and communications firm based in Rockville, MD with 300+ employees has a position available to work as an information specialist.

The Information Specialist will:
¿ Disseminate and interpret complex information regarding the causes, prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of health related conditions and diseases for patients, health professionals, and the public.
¿ Prepare standard and custom responses to written, telephone, and e-mail inquiries from the public, including controlled correspondence
¿ Write clear, accurate, standard language for form letters and custom letters
¿ Conduct research and data gathering including manual and on-line literature searches using the World Wide Web and databases such as Medline and Medlineplus
¿ Support the exhibit program by representing NIH at national professional meetings and conferences.
¿ Support materials development as well as outreach and promotion activities.

Requirements:
¿ Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in health education, science, or social science
¿ Excellent verbal communication skills
¿ Strong writing and analytical skills
¿ 1-3 years of previous work experience in a health related capacity
¿ Some local and long-distance travel may be required
¿ Knowledge of basic PC software such as Microsoft Word
¿ Spanish fluency a plus

Individuals must be able to work well with others in a collaborative, team environment. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, pay attention to details, and handle a variety of responsibilities efficiently and effectively a must.
