Job Listing: Operations Technician (Entry Level)

Teksystems is currently working with a company to help fill a Perm position that they currently have. This position is entitled an “Operations Technician”.

This position has more of an emphasis on networking than server command knowledge and pays 40k, perm. Ideally, they would like someone that has worked in a 24/7 data center environment, but would look at entry level candidates with a Computer Science Degree. This could also be someone that has worked in desktop capacity and possesses a sound understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, and IP traffic in general and wants to move into a data center role.

Requirements from Manager:

Understand basic server commands, reboots, halt, shutdown etc. If they have installed an OS on the server, that is a plus not a requirement
Experience with tape rotations
Any exposure to running CATV cable
Excellent customer service skills as they will be taking trouble tickets over the phone.
Exposure to HVAC, Generators, or UPS would be a plus, not a requirement.

Shift:

Fri 9pm-7am, Sat 7pm-7am, Sun 7pm-7am (would be able to make up the remaining 6 hours whenever they wanted
