Description:
-Familiar with IHC assays and will be responsible for the accessioning of specimens, processing of tissue samples and performing histochemical staining, identifying sectioning and staining characteristics, imaging of the processed slides, analyzing controls and optimizing IHC assay protocol for optimal assay performance.
-Manage the specimen inventory and the specimen database.
-Monitor work to ensure utmost quality and adherence to GLP standards.
-Excellent laboratory and data analysis skills, as well as organization, computer software and documentation skills, attention to details, ability to multi-task, excellent time management, and a strong work ethic.
-Prior experience with assay development in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment is desirable.
Education/Experience:
-Bachelor of Science or related degree with HT or HTL certification to perform routine tasks of histology, special staining, immunohistochemistry and imaging of slides.
-A minimum of three years prior experience in a Histology technical position.
-This position will require strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently in a team environment.
-Prior work experience in pharmaceutical or diagnostic industry desirable.
