Aerotek is working with a company located in Baltimore, MD who is seeking to fill the position of Structural Designer. The successful candidate will provide design assistance to professionals, working as part of a multi-discipline team.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, assist in preparing structural designs, and assist in preparing studies, reports, and contract documents. You will work under the direct supervision of design professionals (PE/SE), who will oversee your work and provide guidance and mentoring for the work with which you are involved. Additional responsibilities include field inspection, periodic monitoring of construction activities, liaison between the designer and contractor, and perform related tasks as required. The position is one of increasing responsibility, with work performed under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have 0 to 2 years experience in structural engineering, and should possess registration as an Engineering Intern (EI) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT). The right candidate is also expected to:
-have technical involvement on structural aspects of various marine projects (ports, harbors, and marinas)
-possess basic knowledge of computer-based structural analysis and design programs
-be able to assist with the design of current and future projects
-work within multi-discipline teams, and be responsive to others
-possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
