Job Listing: Chief Electronic Engineer

Aerotek's client in Atlanta, GA seeks a Chief Electronic Engineer.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Chief Electronic Engineer performs and oversees a variety of engineering work supporting the introduction of new and existing products. This position specifically will drive the technical developments to create a entrance into the global wallbox dimming market. This position will work closely with other members of the cross functional team to complete projects on time.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Design analog and power electronic circuits for leading and trailing edge specification grade wallbox dimmer, variable and quiet fan speed controls and various control circuits for fluorescent and LED light sources.

2. Lead the technical development of wallbox dimmer design including in house and contract team members.

3. Develops performance specifications, conducts design reviews, and evaluates performance tests of designed components, assemblies, or systems to assure that completed work meets specifications.

4. Design and execute experiments to verify and validate the design meets project goals and specifications.

5. Coordinates with internal and/or external resources for the production of prototypes, to include breadboard and final prototypes, establishing feasibility of the device or system.

6. Coordinates with internal and/or external resources for required regulatory and safety testing such as UL, CSA, FCC, etc.

7. Develop final product documentation for release to Manufacturing, to include drawings and specifications, revision control, and test procedures.

8. Participates actively in the Project Level Design Review Conference.

9. Informs all appropriate personnel of the department’s plans, programs, and operations that affect their areas, and maintains an awareness of developments in the electrical/electronic engineering field that relates to their job responsibilities and integrates them into own practices.

10. Keeps abreast of the state-of-the-art in the areas of power supplies, power semiconductors, ballasts, transformers, lamps, building automation and control systems.

11. Searches for new materials, technologies and processes which would improve product performance and/or cost.

12. Special projects as required by management.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Sr. Electronic Engineer reports directly to the Director of Engineering that he/she has been assigned to. The position will regularly interface with all personnel in the Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing and Manufacturing departments and as needed with other disciplines internally as well as outside vendor resources.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:

BS in Engineering - Electrical Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years of electrical/ electronic product design experience with focus on Switch Mode Power Supply design. Familiar with all basic SMPS topologies.

Knowledge of UL/CSA standards and CADAM is a plus.

Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.

Knowledge of electronic test equipment and safe lab practices.

Knowledge of C language programming for embedded solutions a plus.

Well developed written and oral communication skills.

Well developed interpersonal skills.
