Description:
Primary Function
Review Engineering electronic and mechanical drawings for Producibility for electronic chassis assemblies, cables, racks, and other complex electro/mechanical items. Work with local suppliers to expedite, follow and prioritize mechanical (sheet metal and machining) and electronic assemblies that are in process. Work with Engineering in solving any production problems that arise during Production.
Working Procedure
Review every electro/mechanical drawing released by Engineering for Producibility. This review includes mechanical machining and sheet metal, welding, mechanical fit, mechanical hardware. It also includes electronic/electrical review of wire lists, schematics, producibility with the mechanical items.
Attend design reviews to review the producibilty of designs prior to drawing release. Work with design Engineering to work out producibility issues.
Track and follow local vendors and manufacturing area on status of deliveries, problem resolution, and prioritization of workflow.
Create ECO RN’s in a complex computerized database to correct any problems found during internal or external production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong team player.
- Three years in a Production environment preferably in Engineering or Production Engineering. Desire experience in a low volume or prototype manufacturing environment.
- Understand the flow of Production, preferably in an electronic chassis assembly environment.
- Electronic and Mechanical background preferred
- Computer background: Proficient with MS Excel and Word required. Experience with Agile or other similar configuration database preferred. Experience with a scheduling program such as PS7 or MS Project preferred. Must be able to learn new software with ease and be proficient within a short period of time.
