Job Listing: Junior Estimator

A local Las Vegas firm is looking for a Junior Estimator to join their team. They are willing to train an individual with experience with structural steel or fire proofing and can read blue prints.

Summary:

Prepare proposals and bids for work to be performed by LVI in either a general contractor or subcontractor role, calculates the cost of fulfilling job requirements using LVI bid information.

Works closely with Project Managers, other Estimators and Branch Manager to ensure cost estimates are accurate and within guidelines set forth of the contract documents and will reach targeted profit margins.

Essential Functions of Job:

Knowledge of structural steel.

Evaluate and develop bid opportunities, order plans and specifications

Attend pre-bid meetings. may call on municipal or private industry representatives such as engineers or other professional and technical personnel

Review plans, specifications and other customer documents to complete quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates

Prepare and present Change Orders.

Track and report project performance to management

Assume other duties as assigned.
