Job Listing: Aircraft Final Assembly Mechanic

Aerotek Aviation is currently hiring for Final Assembly Mechanics for a Prestigious Business Jet Manufacturer in Wichita, KS

Duties:
-Prepare, install, and/or mate major aircraft sections, for example, fuselage, vertical/horizontal stabilizers, empennage, wings, and keel beam sections per applicable aircraft model
-Install aircraft assemblies, for example, antennas, insulation, floorboards, and access panels
-Install and/or modify tube assemblies to aircraft, for example, hydraulic, fuel, oxygen, and pneumatic per assigned area
-Assist with repairing and/or replacing fuel cells as required
-Install safety devices, for example, locking nuts, cotter pins, locking tabs, and safety wire
-Assist with installation of aircraft doors, for example, landing gears, cabin entry, emergency/escape, baggage bay, and avionics on applicable aircraft models
-Fit and install panels and fairings
-Install flight controls and related hardware, for example, flight control surfaces, flight control systems, indicator systems, stall system, and major structural components on applicable models
-Locate and install leveling plate for the purpose of leveling aircraft
-Build, fit, and/or install aircraft systems and assemblies, for example, the following areas: nose, flight deck, cabin, tail cone, wings, and empennage on applicable aircraft models
-Assist with fitting, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or modifying composite and metal assemblies
-Trim and/or modify structures and control surfaces and ensure proper cable clearance between wire bundles and structure

Qualifications:
-2 years experience in aircraft assembly or equivalent military/trade school training
-Ability to read and interpret engineering documents
-Ability to obtain and renew certifications
-Sheet metal certification per assigned area(s)
-Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement and pneumatic instruments
-Basic mechanical skills

PREVIOUS AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

This position is a contract only opportunity paying 16-22/hr (depending on experience).
