Job Listing: Quality Control/ Wet Chemistry Lab Mgr

A client in Middletown is hiring a QC Chemist with wet chemistry experience to work in the lab and also supervise 7 lab technicians.

- Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the quality control laboratory and work group.

- Fosters and maintains a climate that effects good morale and provides a pleasant, team oriented environment within the QC laboratory.

- Tests finished products to ensure conformance to specifications. Interprets and reports results in a timely manner following standard procedures.

- Coordinates the testing and release of components and raw materials used in production in accordance with specified methods.

- Performs product withdrawal or quarantine functions associated with failed or questionable batches in a timely manner.

- Assures that all equipment in the department is maintained according to defined schedules.

- Assures that daily maintenance and housekeeping in the department is completed and recorded.

- Quarantines failed batches, or batches to be retested, by following standard procedures and task outlines defined in the Quality System Manual.

- Maintains inventory and orders supplies used in quality control department.

- Reviews and generates quarantine or failed batch reports daily or as needed.

- Performs special projects assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

- Acts as back up to other co-workers assignments.

- Maintains and files pertinent documents of the department.

- Conducts work tasks safely and in compliance with the company safety program.

- Responsible for training and development of QC laboratory staff and assuring competence on all pertinent procedures related to the function of the QC laboratory.

- Provides technical assistance to QC technicians and production staff as needed.

- Performs special projects assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
