Job Listing: NOC Transport Tech

TEKsystems is looking for a NOC Transport Technician to work at our client site in Butte, Montana on a contract to hire basis. Our client is the leading wholesale provider of telecommunications products and services in the western, United States.

The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician will receive, analyze, monitor and resolve network switching and transmission system problems in a timely fashion with minimal guidance. The Network Operations Center Technician will provide proactive and reactive network surveillance, troubleshooting, coordination, and restoration of service –affecting network events. Directing activities and providing technical assistance to field maintenance personnel is also expected. Preferred background includes experience working with some or all of the following vendor equipment and technologies: Nortel and Ciena optical transport equipment, Cisco transport and IP equipment and Tellabs DACS equipment.
