Job Summary
The programmer/analyst provides technical support for the administrative support offices. This includes reviewing and enhancing process flows, assisting with the analysis of reporting needs, generating complex reports, insuring data integrity and availability, and troubleshooting program and processing problems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical lead for the SunGard Banner Student System (records & registration modules)
- Provides technical assistance for student related aspects of the Banner AR system
- Along with other programmer/analysts, provides support for the SunGard Workflow system
- Provides analysis and reporting support using SQL & Cognos
- Provides application support for the SunGard Self-Service Banner Applications
- Works with the interfacing and integration of third party software with the SunGard Banner system as needed (RMS, Connect-Ed, TK20, CBORD etc.)
- Works with the importing and exporting of data from the SunGard Banner system as needed for client support
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors
Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
- Three to five years of programming experience using SQL, PL/SQL, Java, XML, C, COBOL
- Familiarity with SunGard Banner Systems preferred
- Experience with Oracle, database, web enabled apps, forms development
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills are essential
- Experience with Cognos a plus
- Experience with Linux/Unix a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug programming code and related processes
- Accuracy in work is essential
- Should possess strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail is important
Organizational Relationships
- Position reports to the Director of Administrative Computing Services, the Associate Director of Administrative Computing Services and the Chief Information Officer.
- Position interacts and works with the administrative office personnel and on occasion faculty members
- Position is a member of a team of programmer/analysts that provide support for the administrative offices
