This position is a key member of the Operations leadership team. The jobholder serves as the top procurement, materials and facilities oversight leader for the company. The person in this position will develop a supply chain that can deliver components, systems, contracted services and outsourced consultants reliably and on budget. Oversees: Purchasing, Materials Management, Facilities Management
Duties and Responsibilities
-Builds internal business processes and systems to enable operational excellence in the procurement, logistics and facility operations for the company.
-Creates a procurement forecast and budget for each quarter and monitors performance against this budget.
-Determines suppliers and negotiates pricing and delivery for consumable purchases for the business.
-Provides daily direction and supervision for contractors at the worksite to include approval of additional labor and materials to meet design requirements.
-Develops and maintains an effective quoting system so that orders can be estimated and forecast regarding pricing and delivery.
-Analyzes customer needs, customer operations, timing and incorporates this into market priced quotes/estimates for additional services/features/installation or for changes to approved design.
-Obtains firm customer approval for non-standard elements, upgrades and additional material or services.
-Takes charge of all emergencies and ensures responsible back-up is available on order to take corrective action as necessary.
-Formulates and implements preventative maintenance programs for utility systems, equipment and building maintenance.
-Acts as Safety Manager and conducts and implements safety regulations and programs.
Education/Experience Requirements:
-Minimum of BS Degree in Business Administration or Engineering
-Minimum of ten (10) years of procurement experience with a medical products equipment manufacturer, preferably in a leadership position.
Other Requirements
-Ability to travel to suppliers worldwide to evaluate new components and consumables and well as visit customer sites.
-Computer literacy with MS Excel, Project and Word, ERP and Finance packages.
-Familiar with procurement and logistic requirements for process systems used in GMP and validated operations.
-In-depth experience in biopharmaceutical facility design and operation, including bioreactors and related equipment highly preferable.
