Job Listing: Behavioral/ Pain Research Associate

Our client, a major Pharmaceutical company in Tarrytown NY who do studies central nervous system disorders, is looking for 5-6 Behavioral Research Associates for a full-time, permanent position.

On a day to day basis, this research associate will be responsible for;
-Designing and executing behavioral and pharmaceutical experiments with mice
-Data preparation and analysis
-Pain studies doing tail flicks, hot plates, plantar tests, writhing, etc
-Preparing materials necessary for experimental studies
-Handling small animals
-Validating, calibrating, and modifying automated experimental instrumentation

To be qualified for this position, the ideal candidate will have a MS degree in biological sciences or psychology, experience with handling small animals (preferably mice) in a laboratory discipline, organization skills, and experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. A plus would be knowing Morris Water Maze, Novel Object Recognition, or Fear Conditioning. This position requires the candidate to have pain experience working with tail flicks, hot plates, etc involving pain tests with mice or rats.
