Job Listing: Java Developer (server side)

Our Client, located in Sunnyvale is looking for a Sr. Java Developer to join their team permanently. This person must be very experienced (10+ years) with Server-Side Framework architecture.

Position Description
*This candidate will be responsible for designing & implementing platform solutions in support of real-world business solutions in the service management and business process market.
*Candidate must have a broad technical skill set & past experience implementing Internet/e-business architectures & solutions in the Java/J2EE platforms either by extending existing client/server platform or building from scratch.
*Candidate should influence overall technical direction of a product or suite of products and play an influential role in architectural decisions.
*This person should be a technical guru in server side J2EE/J2SE Architecture.
*Candidate will ensure that project based decisions support appropriate technical standards and willing to mentor and work with less experienced developers in the group.
*He/She will be responsible for researching, recommending, estimating, prototyping, and or initiating the development of our introduction of "next generation" products, extending existing functionality, methodologies, technologies, etc.
*Candidate will have an opportunity to make recommendations for 3rd party and other product integration.
*Candidate must have sound object-oriented expertise, excellent design & programming skills, good abstraction skills, a real sense of delivery, & professional abilities in a product development environment.
*Candidate should have a deep understanding of programming languages (Java / JavaScript / J2EE), implementation support structures, & integration tools and technology.
*Candidate will learn the current platform, participate in current project plans and propose future direction on improving Web interface to existing platform.
*Candidate should be passionate to deliver best user experience possible in browsers and influence key technical decisions to deliver the best solution for the organization.
*He/she will communicate critical technical choices, specify requirements & constraints for design & implementation, scope the level of effort, assess team strength, & keep activities in synch with organizational strategy, practical delivery & business value.

Requirements for a qualified candidate are the following:
*8 - 12+ years of product engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering high quality commercial enterprise products.
*Experience in architecting complex framework and platform solutions using web technologies.
*Experience in application development platform for building enterprise application and business critical business processes that involves workflow automation and process orchestration.
*Excellent ability to architect, design and develop Object Oriented and Service Oriented software with practical use of design patterns.
*Extensive knowledge of web servers and app servers. *Experience with open source participation and apache projects is a big plus.
*Extensive experience designing/developing J2EE compliant applications using Websphere, Tomcat, WebLogic or similar products.
*Experience with distributed systems or a large enterprise background is a must
*Must have strong decision-making skills; take-charge personality, and the ability to drive a plan to completion combined with good written and oral communication.
*Good understanding of high-availability and scalable platform architecture.
*Good understanding of troubleshooting and performance tuning of multi-layered application.

Education Desired:
*BS/MS (CS preferred)
