Aviation Security Manager - Frederick MD
Summary:
The Manager of Aviation Security assists in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies related to General Aviation Security. Responsible for management and oversight of aviation security issues and initiatives that affect our clients members at the federal, state, and local levels. Internal and external communication of this work is a primary responsibility. Must effectively communicate the association's policy to government agencies and membership. Responsible for maintaining a wide range of contacts with federal agencies as well as other aviation industry organizations.
Responsibilities will include:
Programs and policies relating to General Aviation from Department Of Homeland Security Components.
Programs and policies affecting General Aviation security from supportive agencies and organizations such as Department of Defense NORTHCOM/NORAD, CONR and Federal Aviation Administration(Supportive role to Regulatory Affairs).
Increase our clients visibility within aviation security circles through active engagement and committee participation.
Develop strategies to mitigate affects of security on Association members
·Responsible for administering, fostering, and promoting our clients Airport Watch Program
·Work to maintain GA Security presence on the our clients website through the development of issues briefs and significant industry updates
·Oversee promotion of security operations to members
Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Aviation, Business/Public Administration, or Security preferred.
·Experience:
Three to five years progressively responsible security experience in aviation, law enforcement, military or related field. Familiar with or knowledgeable of the Department of Homeland Security and the agencies that affect General Aviation Security.
·Skills:
Strong written and verbal skills a must. Must have in-depth knowledge aviation security programs and practices. Successful applicant should also possess a working knowledge of the regulatory process.
·Aviation:
Aviation-savvy individual with knowledge and understanding of general aviation operations preferred. Private pilot certificate with knowledge of aviation security a plus.
