Job Listing: Project Engineer

A supplier in the metro Detroit areas is looking for a project engineer.

The engineer will be the main customer interface on technical issues (mechanical and process focused). The engineer will actively plan and lead mechanical project engineering and design activities for the respective project. The candidate will enforce adherence to established customer specifications and the internal processes and procedures. The candidate will actively lead engineering resources to maintain project schedule and budget requirements.

Project inputs include, but not limited to:
Customer request for quote, vendor quotations, proposals, cost estimate, Standard solution offerings, previous things gone wrong/things gone right, R&M data, customer / industry specifications, etc.

Deliverable documented requirements per company established methods, oversee the completion and effective use of:
System / Cell Layout’s, project job books, project open issue’s list, master bill of material / procurement plan for purchasing, equipment functional specification, sequence of operations / time cycle diagram, detailed and specific request for quotes, evaluate and source equipment, project quality documentation (PFMEA, FMEA, etc.), mechanical to controls line-up, internal concept / design reviews within the customer, manufacturing line-up, equipment buy-off @ vendor facility for external source equipment prior to delivery to ABB, support manufacturing equipment build on plant floor, conduct internal equipment run-off prior to customer run-off, participate in final customer run-off @ the client, participate in equipment run-off @ customer’s facility, provide final documentation and equipment manuals per proposal & participate in project things gone wrong / things gone right.

Travel: Historically, bi-weekly 1-2 day customer meetings & 1-2 week field support during equipment installation (Field support may be longer based upon project type)
