DS2 is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Deputy Project Manager at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia.
Occupational Summary:
Deputy Project Manager (Deputy PM) performs varied, complex supervision of maintenance delivery order activities, providing communications and electronic components and systems repair/modification/refurbishment, production control, supply support, and inventory management.
This full-time professional position requires regular, predictable attendance. Individual must be able to pass a physical examination as determined by the company, based on the essential job functions; must conduct all business in accordance with Company Affirmative Action goal; conducts all activities and make determinations based on sound, ethical business practices and standards as established by the corporation and various regulatory agencies; must immediately disclose any real or suspected ethical improprieties to management.
Essential Job Functions:
Deputy PM assists in the direction of daily operations of work site of 500+ employees; actively assists and provides direction to subordinate technicians; administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees; completes task-oriented assignments; provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency.
Deputy PM reports directly to the Project Manager and indirectly to the Program Manager; provides principal liaison and primary daily interface with Government Project Officer and Quality Assurance Representative; participates with the Government Project Officer and the project Manager in strategic and long range maintenance/support planning; coordinates resources and control programs that support site operations; ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and time-lines; performs oversight of administrative and payroll activities; communicates and coordinates among field site, customer, program, and supporting staffs; tracks the site's problems and imitates corrective actions for their resolution; prepares and presents information briefings; performs studies, investigations, and analyses as requested by program management, and as required to maintain site operations; attends or conducts staff, coordination, and status meetings as requested by government customer or program management; travels within region and occasionally to program office for meetings and conferences. Performs other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Briefs general officers, military commanders, and staff members on organization function, operation, and status. Communicates with military customers concerning potential, in-progress, and completed work.
Must possess: Highly competent verbal and interpersonal skills, proficient written communication skills, and multi-task organizational skills.

The duration of the assignment is for a minimum of 3 years or upon completion or termination of Contract/Task Order.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
2 years college level education and minimum of 10 years of directly related experience in equipment/vehicle maintenance, or H.S. Diploma and 14 years of directly related experience in equipment/vehicle maintenance with five (5) years experience leading/managing maintenance field team operations; must possess a minimum of two years computer experience with Microsoft Office components.
Previous supervisory experience is mandatory. Desired education, background, and experience in payroll, administration, and DS/GS or depot-level equipment maintenance leadership, production control, quality control, and supply support. Must be able to travel as necessary.
