TEKsystems has several positions available for Oracle DBA.
Job Responsibilities:
-Analyze business processes and application requirements to produce formal analysis and/or design documents. Propose and develop solutions to business environment and needs. Create project and product definition documents; such as functional specifications, database layouts, project plan.
-Coordinate the database modifications to appropriate development environments. Work with the Testing and QA groups to complete development process including performance tuning, troubleshooting, database cloning, backup and restore, etc.
-Install and configure Oracle software in preparation of creating various development database environments. Should be able to monitor and improve performance of database servers.
-Act as information resource for questions about the RDBMS (and related software) to developers, management, operators, and users. Should be able to provide information concerning SQL code during tuning of stored procedures and triggers.
-Support 24x7 production databases.
-Enhance and maintain database recovery strategies for on-site and off-site recoverability.
-Oversees conformance to departmental standards for data names, database design documentation and database I/O techniques.
-Documents data models, logical and physical database designs using Database Modeling tools (i.e., ERWin).
-Participates in defining and implementing data security.
-Provides technical and consulting leadership with extensive knowledge of dealership, applications, programming, systems and data processing technology.
-Proactively build good relationships with business partners and other personnel for solving work-related issues.
Job Requirements:
-Good knowledge on Oracle database installation, configuration and cloning.
-Good knowledge on Oracle replication, Data Guard and RAC.
-Experience in supporting multiple production environments with large databases on SAN
-Excellent Backup and recovery scenarios and have good experience on recovery.
-Good Knowledge in using RMAN and OEM/Grid Control.
-Good knowledge on database performance tuning including SQL, SGA, IO, etc.
-Proficient in AIX 5L ? Sufficient knowledge about Operating Systems
-Understands and is willing to provide off hour/weekend support as needed for the projects
