Job Listing: Phlebotomist

Our client, a clinical testing facility, is looking for six full time phlebotomists to join their team in the following locations in Southwestern, CT: Danbury, Stratford (2), Fairfield, Norwalk, and Stamford.

Responsibilities of the Phlebotomist position:
- Greet customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
- Collect adequate and correct blood specimens by vein-puncture or micro-technique on patients.
- Label, centrifuge, split, freeze and package specimens as required by test order.
- Recognize complications in blood collections and react according to guidelines and eliminate factors causing errors or delay analytical laboratory specimens processing and testing.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures to correctly identify and label all specimens drawn.
- Communicate appropriately with clients, patients, coworkers and the general public.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Group Leader/Supervisor.

To be considered for the Phlebotomist position you must have:
- At least 1 year of recent experience in a clinical setting.
- Have experience in high volume blood draws (at least 15 - 20 per day) with Pediatrics and Geriatrics.
- Must be willing to submit to a drug test and background screening.
