Job Listing: DB2 Developer

TEKsystems has teamed with an organization in Saint Louis seeking a Senior DB2 Developer!

This individual will be responsible for technical design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of programming applications to satisfy requirements of one or more user areas. -- participate in planning sessions with the project team to analyze business requirements and define the proposed technology solution-- be responsible for creating data services, and integrating the data service components-- provide input to application design, and data model-- provide support for all phases of testing such as integration testing, and user acceptance testing.-- work under the guidance of a Technical Lead or manager, and will be held accountable for completing tasks within assigned timeline. -- collaborate with other developers in creating optimal, maintainable, and scalable architecture and design-- follow enterprise standards and guidelines during all phases of development lifecycle-- create high-quality technical documentation-- participate in peer code and design reviews. -- provide daily production and technical support to assigned systems. -- identify / troubleshoot application code issues-- be expected to be proactive in identifying and escalating to the technical lead such issues that will have an adverse impact on the project-- report status to project management regularly (at least once a week)-- interact with IT management and other teams at a highly professional and technical level. -- work closely with business analysts and business partners to understand and translate functional requirements and processes into technical specifications. -- demonstrate accurate and complete understanding of project scope. -- provide high-quality consultation to business partners and demonstrate keen aptitude in acquiring business domain expertise.

Required Skillset: SQL and relational databases like DB2/UDB and/or Oracle-9i,Unix / AIX shell scripting, DB2/Oracle SQL statements and stored procedures, Data Warehousing/Mining
